Bio.

With a voice that is both moving and heartfelt, Bek delivers her music with 100% soul, creating a powerful and unforgettable sound leaving audiences spellbound in a kind of roller boogie wonderland way. Onstage, she is womanly, flirty, and vibrant, blending soul, funk, and contemporary blues music to deliver her dynamic performance.

Bek grew up in a family of musicians. Surrounded by constant live music, she developed a deep appreciation for a range of genres, including soul, rock n roll, blues, jazz, country, and gospel music. It wasn't long before she found her own passion for the stage and began performing in a band on the northern beaches of Sydney called Souled on Funk. Bek was still in high school but dreamt only of the stage. It was then her mother invited her to sing alongside her at the famous Kings Cross venue, Springfields and life changed forever for the enthusiastic teen.

Bek quickly established herself as an independent artist and in-demand backing vocalist. She has recorded and toured nationally with Australia's iconic artists including Cold Chisel, Jimmy and Mahalia Barnes, The Sleepy Jackson, and Lachy Doley, among others. Her rich tone and ability to blend seamlessly with other musicians is a testament to her exceptional talent and versatility.

In 2007 Bek teamed up with producer/composer/guitarist Marty Hailey (Lo-Tel, Jimmy Little, David Campbell, Smoke and Mirrors) to release an original album together titled Counting The Days by The Favourites.

In 2009, Bek and her husband, Michael Wheatley, built their own professional recording studio, Nut n Butter Studio in Marrickville and started preparing Bek’s first solo album release beginning with work-shopping her songs and teaching and gigging all over the country to raise funds for the project. In 2010 Bek was offered a 5-month singing contract in Japan which was the perfect opportunity to reconnect herself with her own unique sound. On returning home with a suitcase full of new songs, Bek called upon her friends to bring their amazing talents to her music producing her first her solo album Bek Kimochi.

In 2014, Bek delivered a fresh new sound with a further EP - Lucky. Produced and co-written with Tim Hall (The Whitlams, Chakra Diva, The Strange), they started writing songs together and Tim opened many creative doors for Bek, allowing her to walk through ideas she may not have dared to on her own. The result was a bunch of fun, quirky, daring, and exciting songs that she calls organic, electro soul. The EP was also made on a successful crowdfunding campaign.

Magic & Art is Bek's 3rd solo release. It is moving, heartfelt, and identifiable showing strength in her songwriting ability! Tipping her hat to her musical roots, Bek’s sound has been likened to Janelle Monae, The Blues Brothers, Prince and the deep soul music that she was raised on.

Magic & Art is for the magician and artist in everyone!

The latest step for Bek Jensen is her independently released album Energy. Recorded and co/produced with Declan Kelly at, The Nest Studio, in Sydney, her new songs are joyful reflections of her life as an empowered woman living her truth with integrity and grace.
